Virginia Stormwater Pump Station, South Australia

NPE was chosen to undertake the dewatering for the storage tank installation at the Virginia Stormwater Pump Station.

NPE was chosen to undertake the dewatering for the storage tank installation at the Virginia Stormwater Pump Station.

By drilling a series of dewatering wells outside of the excavation, NPE installed a 100m perimeter wellpoint system with 6m deep wellpoint spears. Submersible pumps were also installed inside the excavation area at two separate points to collect groundwater seepage from between the clay layers.

The system operates 24/7 with the extracted water running through a clarifier settling tank, then stored in water storage tanks for the client to dispose of at the nearest treatment plant.
