NPE was originally awarded the EPCM contract for the Ravenswood Gold Mine Expansion Project in Ravenswood, North Queensland, to supply and operate a 6MW diesel power station.

Shortly after the project was awarded, the scope was expanded to accommodate additional shortfalls in the site’s mains power supply, with the overall scope increasing to 30MW at peak supply.

The station will supply power to the newly constructed equipment such as the NPE Tailings Removal Package, primary gyratory crusher, secondary and tertiary crushers, conveyor circuits, ball mill, associated pumps and auxiliary equipment.

Phase 1 is expected to run for 36 months. Phase 2 of the project for an estimated 6-12 months.

The installation and commissioning phase of the project was completed with labour from the Mackay, Brisbane, and Perth branches.

Personnel were required to work up to 8 weeks away in stages to support the project.
