The first part of the project was W4. Due to significant concerns over the potential collapse of an existing pit wall, a new DN560 pipeline was required in order to re-route the trunk main line away from the high risk area and minimise the impact on mining operations in the event the pit wall collapsed.
The second part of works was E356. Expansion plans for the eastern 6 pit required the immediate relocation of the dewatering trunk main line carrying water from the Yandi pit dewatering bores to the Marillana Creek discharge point. Approximately 1.5 kms of DN560 pipeline was relocated to the opposing side of a diversion drain one kilometre away.
NPE met all of the key challenges of the project, two weeks ahead of time and budget. This reinforced our position as industry leaders and once again demonstrated our mobile service capabilities.
Services provided include: Relocation of pipeline within a constrained environmental discharge timeframe. Mobilise, supply and install HDPE pipelines. Off-site fabrication of pipe spooling. On completion, NPE provided additional specialised services to support BHPB’s ongoing project needs.
