NSW Central Coast Sewer Bypass Upgrade

National Pump & Energy was engaged to design, supply, install, and maintain a temporary sewer bypass pumping system to support critical refurbishment works at the sewerage pumping station. The scope included three cutter submersible pumps, telemetry systems, pipework, gate valves, and plugs. Due to site restrictions, no generator or fuel cell was deployed.

Operating at a controlled flow rate of 3 L/s, the temporary bypass system was designed, installed, and maintained in accordance with the project requirements and the Sewer Bypass Management Plan. The works formed an essential enabling component for the broader upgrade, which comprised replacement pumps, a new valve pit, additional storage capacity, upgraded electrical switchboard and monitoring systems, a new rising main, and a permanent bypass connection.

Despite significant space constraints on site, the NPE team delivered an outstanding outcome. The pipework installation was secure and well-organised, and the site was maintained in a clean, safe, and highly functional condition. Their attention to detail and adaptability ensured the works were executed efficiently while minimising risks of blockages or sewer overflows.
