Wet Season Management in North-West Queensland Mining

NPE supported a remote north‑west Queensland site after heavy rainfall, with 370 mm recorded in seven days. The rain temporarily restricted access, but the team managed the impacts well. They used every available window for treated water releases and kept the site’s water balance steady compared to the previous period.

The team also used mechanical water management and strong wet‑season plans to control water on site. As a result, surface water stayed well below the Maximum Operating Level. This strengthened the site’s compliance position and showed that the asset can be managed safely, even in harsh weather.
