NPE Bypass Solutions for  Black Rock Water Reclamation Plant

 National Pump & Energy (NPE) was engaged by AMH Civil to deliver a full bypass solution for the Black Rock Water Reclamation Plant (BRWP), enabling major upgrades to the facility’s inlet infrastructure. The project was carried out in partnership with Barwon Asset Solutions who provide maintenance services to the Barwon Water owned site.

To maintain continuous operations during the works, NPE designed, supplied, and maintained a comprehensive bypass system that supported multiple treatment processes across the plant. This included managing flows from the main outfall sewer at 1200 litres per second, two coastal inlet pipes at 350 litres per second each, sludge supernatant at 100 litres per second, UF Plant CIP waste at 100 litres per second, and a small but critical OCF condensate stream at 2 litres per second.

The bypass system featured a range of specialised equipment tailored to meet the plant’s diverse operational requirements. Silenced canopy pumps, submersible units, fuel systems, telemetry controls, poly pipelines, valves, and custom suction and discharge lines were deployed to ensure reliability, efficiency, and environmental compliance throughout the upgrade period.

This project highlights NPE’s capability to deliver turnkey bypass solutions for complex water infrastructure environments, with a strong focus on engineering precision, operational continuity, and collaborative delivery.
