Wet Season Management in North-West Queensland Mining
NPE was engaged to support a remote north-west Queensland operation following significant rainfall, with approximately 370 mm recorded over a seven-day period, temporarily restricting site access.
Despite these conditions, rainfall impacts were successfully managed, with all available opportunities utilised for treated water releases. This resulted in an approximately neutral site water balance compared to the prior period, supported by treated water releases, mechanical water management, and established wet-season preparedness protocols.
Surface water levels were maintained well below the Maximum Operating Level, materially strengthening the site’s regulatory compliance position and demonstrating the capability to sustainably manage the asset through adverse weather events.
