NPE were chosen to undertake the critical dewatering and water treatment scope for the Northern Dive Structure on the Tonkin Gap Alliance project. The Northern Dive Structure is a 400 metre long cut and cover tunnel which once constructed, will allow the new train line to run along Tonkin Highway and dive below ground level, pass under the south bound lanes of Tonkin Highway and then resurface heading towards Whiteman Park.
By drilling a series of dewatering wells inside of the structure, NPE will lower the groundwater table to a depth of 8.5m below ground level. The extracted water is then treated and recharged back into the ground ensuring that the surrounding environment is not adversely impacted . The system will operate 24/7 for approximately 30 weeks.
NPE has a proud 28 years of experience in successfully delivering such projects and is well-suited to undertake this work due to the ability to undertake drilling, design, water treatment and environmental monitoring all inhouse by highly experience NPE personnel.
