NPE were proud to provide their expertise to assist with the international emergency response to cool damaged reactors at the Diiachi Fukushima nuclear power station.
Our involvement included providing emergency response and remote controlled, mobile water cannons, as well as high volume, high head pumping systems, to cool damaged reactors. Our participation and response crossed borders and language barriers.
Perth: 48 hour emergency response requirement met by 24 hour round-the-clock operation including complete design, engineering, construction, in-house testing, load out logistics and operational / maintenance documentation.
Japan: Provision of operational team to supervise and assist in unloading, installation, commissioning and testing, plus training of local and military operators.
In addition to the key equipment outlined above, NPE also provided:
- All spooling, checks, valves, air bleeds, fasteners, gaskets and other components to meet with system needs
- All high and low pressure steel and flexible custom made pipeline system
- 1,000mt of armoured cable to complete electrical tie-in
- Air powered priming system including diesel compressors, pumps and hoses
