MX Nationals Rd 1

Matt Moss Round 1 News

It was a dream start to the Motul MX Nationals for the National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Team with Matt Moss claiming the top podium position in the MX1 and Jake Moss grabbing 3rd in MX2.

Matt Moss showed what he is capable of this year with an incredibly impressive debut race aboard the KX450F. Matt claimed the chequered flag after passing defending champion Kirk Gibbs in the second race to take overall honours for the day.

Kade Mosig also displayed what an outstanding talent he is taking out the superpole and finishing an impressive 4th overall.

In his first national motocross race in 18 months, Jake Moss showed everyone what a true champion looks like. After having a difficult time last year with a spate of injuries, Jake tore up the Horsham track and the highly competitive field to earn his place upon the winners podium.

“I had an unreal weekend and I felt great,” Moss beamed. “I felt like I could’ve won the first race if I’d got up front earlier, and I kinda blew it in the second race, but that’s probably from a lack of racing experience over the past 18 months”.

The 2016 Motul MX Nationals now heads to Appin, NSW, for round two on Sunday, 17 April.
