AIC Mining Manager – Perth / Full Time

About the role:
Manage all aspects of the Assembly, Installation and Commissioning (AIC) Team to ensure all projects committed by NPE are successfully prepared, delivered, and commissioned on time, on budget, and to the highest safety standards. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the Project Supervisors/Managers and AIC Supervisor to ensure an engaged, productive, and committed workforce that is positioned to achieve targets. Furthermore, the role will provide mentoring, clear communication, conflict resolution, delegation, and negotiation as required

Position Description

Key Accountabilities

•Coordinate and manage the Project/AIC teams, providing the Project Supervisors/Managers and AIC Supervisor the tools and equipment to effectively deliver all committed works safely, on time and as per clients requirements
•Ensure efficient operation and delivery of projects and project-specific items
•Liaise with the Project and AIC teams to provide labour and equipment to large projects as per operational requirements
•Coordinate and schedule all other Project and AIC team requirements, including maintenance, fabrication, electrical and testing
•Proactively plan in consultation with the Sales/Branch/Project Manager for upcoming works
•Liaise with branch/site team, sub-contractors and client representatives via phone and/or email to ensure schedules are kept and jobs are being completed on time
•Ensure appropriate delegation of duties to contractors/employees to ensure all works are completed correctly
•Evaluate employee performance onsite and provide feedback as required
•Site visits with sales/branch teams to scope works
•Provide visible leadership to develop a supportive culture, build engagement, capability and ensure commitment to company’s values, safety and all policies and procedures
•Monitor and coordinate any tasks to be completed to maintain compliance with OHS and other legislative requirements, including ensuring staff are competently trained and equipped for the scope of works
•Ensure completion of daily paperwork including, but not limited to, job sheets, toolbox meetings, pre-starts and timesheets for approval
•Ensure pre-mobilisation and post project meetings are carried out prior to any personnel going to site and to ensure any actions are addressed after post project meetings
•Ensure site files are completed with relevant documentation included prior to mobilising personnel to site
•Proactively work with the HSEQ Advisor for any incidents/issues within the scope of your department and to ensure that all personnel understand health & safety obligations and apply these in daily tasks
•Proactively be involved in relevant meetings and reviews, and communicate to ensure that your team has a clear understanding of any expectations, policies or procedures implemented by NPE
•Manage rostering requirements to ensure appropriate resourcing for job schedules
•Liaise with the HR team on a regular basis to ensure there is adequate resourcing for current and upcoming jobs
•Work with HR & HSE to ensure that all personnel have valid and current licenses, medicals and competencies as required for their role
•Ensure that any contractors engaged have been approved and completed all mandatory entry requirements prior to commencing work
•Perform (at least every quarter) informal performance discussions with each team member to promote quality relationships and individual performance.
•Dealing with external/internal stakeholder demands, conflicts and change
•Adopt a proactive approach to safety by consulting with the work force, promoting safe work practices, identifying and assessing workplace hazards and implementing appropriate control measures
•Report workplace issues and incidents in a timely manner, including but not limited to escalating any grievances or issues raised by employees in a timely manner to the relevant supervision
•Play a key role in the performance management of the Project and AIC Teams and manage any performance related matters in consultation with the HR Team.

Skills/ Selection Criteria (qualifications & experience)

Essential:
•Current Driver’s Licence
•Demonstrated experience in a Project Manager/Supervisory (or similar) position
•Knowledge of dewatering pumping system design and installation
•Demonstrated understanding of relevant plant, equipment, pipe works and installations
•Proven project leadership ability to develop, empower and motivate employees to obtain the required objectives
•Exceptional organisation and planning skills with strong adherence to deadlines and an ability to juggle multiple competingpriorities
•Patient, flexible and adaptable to changing and challenging circumstances with great problem-solving and an ability to work wellunder pressure
•Display the ability of high-level strategic thinking to make decisions that are in the best interest of NPE
•Ability to travel to site as required
•Results driven, solutions focused and highly organised
•Exposure to heavy vehicles and machinery
•Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills

Desirable:
•Experience in the Rental, Mining, Construction or Heavy industries
•Certificate III or IV in Frontline Management
•Senior First Aid
•Safety Leadership Training
