The Coppabella Mine is an open-cut mine located 160 kilometers west of Mackay. Recognized as being one of the fastest coal mine developments in Australia, Coppabella produces low-volatile pulverized coal injection (PCI) coal for export markets.
When the Coppabella Mine flooded Campbell Mining Services, now National Pump & Energy (NPE), were engaged to dewater the pits as quickly and sustainably as possible, allowing the rapid recommencement of mine production works.
The mine was completely inundated with all pits flooded. Our specialist disaster recovery and dewatering team were on-site quickly, to assess the situation and develop appropriate and effective solutions for the site. Services provided include but are not limited to: site assessment, concept design, construction and installation, management and operation and subsequent decommissioning and removal of dewatering systems and equipment.
